St Andrew’s School Turi welcomes applications for the role of Teacher of English (Maternity Cover). The Teacher of English will report to the Head of Faculty of English and will be a member of the Academic teaching team.
The successful candidate will join a thriving and well experienced department, achieving excellent results at A level and (I) GCSE. They will be expected to teach from Year 9 to Year 11. An ability to teach A Level would be an added advantage. They will also be fully involved in the outstanding Sports and Outdoor Education Provision.
As a full boarding school, St Andrew’s is committed to providing a vibrant co-curricular and boarding programme to which all staff contribute. The successful candidate will be an academic tutor and attached to a specific boarding house for duties.

Experience
- Teaching engaging and challenging English lessons to Y9 – 11 students
- Teaching of the iGCSE Curriculum
- Planning English lessons to enable all students to thrive and develop, utilizing best practice in planning for assessment for learning and differentiation
- Teaching A Level Curriculum
- Providing meaningful feedback to students, using formative assessment as a guide for future learning
- Working collaboratively in a successful department, learning from colleagues in terms of striving for the best practice.
