Job Title: Business Development Manager
Salary: KES 100,000
Job Purpose
Responsible for driving the growth and sustainability of our business operations, expanding our client base, and
developing strategic partnerships within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify potential clients, assess market trends, and analyse the competitive landscape. Utilize
data-driven insights to develop strategies for market penetration and expansion.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
Implement effective client acquisition strategies to attract and onboard new customers. Build and maintain strong
relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Provide financial education and support to clients, promoting responsible financial practices.
Product Development:
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and enhance microfinance products that cater to the needs of the target
market. Keep abreast of industry trends and regulations to ensure the relevance and compliance of our product offerings.
Strategic Partnerships:
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with local businesses, schools, hospitals, banks, and other agencies to
enhance the reach and impact of our microfinance services. Negotiate and manage partnerships to create mutually
beneficial relationships.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of business development department to achieve individual and team targets. Provide
ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure the team’s continuous improvement.
Risk Management:
Implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitor and analyze portfolio
performance, identifying and addressing potential risks in a timely manner.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on business development activities, financial performance, and key performance indicators.
Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive informed decision-making.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in same role in a Micro credit or Micro finance sector (A MUST) with a focus in business
development. - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Ability to develop and implement sales strategies
- Interacted with salary advance loans and MOUs partnerships
- Proven experience in B2B sales
- Proven experience in negotiating and closing deals and following up on closed deals to ensure they are consistent
- Track record of building and maintaining sales pipeline to ensure consistent flow of qualified leads
- Ability to present company loan products to directors and other potential clients and ensure they are on boarded
as per the company policy - Strong negotiation skills with ability to establish new leads
- Strong understanding of microfinance principles, financial inclusion, and local market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Worked in a well-known micro-credit in Nairobi
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of achieving targets.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the microfinance sector.
- Ability to develop KPI’S and track their implementation to the later
