The Institute for Human Development (IHD) envisions driving innovation in research related to early human development. Its mission is to advance the quality of individual lives and contribute to the development of successful pluralistic societies. IHD conducts basic and applied research, applies research findings to inform community programs and services, and influences policy formulation and implementation based on systematic research. Additionally, the institute offers educational programs at various study levels to prepare human development specialists and professionals.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator, the field enumerators will be responsible for:
- Supporting qualitative and quantitative data collection and data management.
- Assisting in the preparation, recruitment, and mobilization of study participants.
- Facilitating the invitation of study participants.
- Introducing the study to participants and obtaining informed consent.
- Contributing to tool review and pretesting.
- Assisting in community engagement processes.
- Generating interview/FGDs summaries per activity.
- Ensuring proper storage of all records and raw data.
- Transcribing qualitative data.
- Supporting with coding and charting of transcribed data in NVIVO.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Health, Social, or Behavioral Sciences.
- Minimum of one (1) year demonstrable experience in data collection.
- Excellent oral communication skills, with fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Preferable residency in Nairobi, Mombasa, or Kilifi.
- Experience in social and behavioral science data collection highly desirable.
